Seven Drip Coffee

My coffee doesn `t heat the water as well as in the past and still don` t run any water through ...?

This a drip-type with an expensive Stainless Steel Thermal carafe. Seven years and I have been using tap water in it. Is this the part heating of it eaten by deposits and there is a way I can clean it? Yes, it does make popping sounds while heating.

If you hear "popping" noises when it heats the water, then you have mineral deposits built on the heating element. The heater acts as a distiller when you add water with minerals in it (tap, spring, etc.) If the heater has mineral build up it will not work as good as when you bought it. If a commercial brewer, does run through it with vinegar (you have the taste of vinegar for about 20-30 pots) Can you tell us what brand and model is the brewer?
